Ali Reza Yasa

Founder and Chairman

Ali Reza Yasa, a visionary educator with a passion for accessible quality education, founded Star Educational Society in 1998. With over 20 years of teaching experience at Star and American universities, Ali Reza holds an MA in Central Asian Studies from the American University of Central Asia, specializing in Anthropology. As Editor-in-Chief of the Interstellar Bulletin, Star's weekly newspaper, he expertly mobilizes teamwork and establishes new branches in Afghanistan's poorest areas. Under his leadership, Star Educational Society has expanded to 17 branches across Afghanistan and three countries, publishing the Interstellar Bulletin since 2015. Ali Reza's dedication has helped over 100 Fulbright scholars and 60,000 students achieve success, breaking down barriers and promoting social justice. His vision empowers individuals to reach their full potential, shaping a brighter future for Afghanistan and beyond.

Engineer Nasrullah Hussaini

Senior English Instructor

Engineer Nasrullah Hussaini, recipient of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarship, holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, India. Serving as a senior English instructor at Star Educational Society, he chairs the TOEFL-IELTS Department and heads Star's Capacity Building Program. Nasrullah is passionate about teaching Computer Language Programs at local Universities and dreams of establishing a software company in Afghanistan to meet local needs.

Latif Shafayee

Senior Instructor and Branch Manager

Latif Shafayee is a senior instructor and branch manager at Star Educational Society - H Branch. In addition to his role as the branch manager, he has been teaching English at different branches of SES such as Kabul, Bamyan, and Herat since 2014. Latif has studied Plan Protection Department at the Agriculture faculty of Kabul University.

Known for his hardworking, ambitious, and honest nature, Latif believes in the values of commitment, honesty, and dedication, which led him to join this academic center. Star will not only let students learn English academically but also pave their academic career in the future.

Mohammad Reza Sharifi

Mohammad Reza Sharifi

Computer Science Researcher

Mohammad Reza Sharifi's journey into the world of Computer Science began during his 10th-grade ESL instruction at the Star Educational Society in Kabul, where his passion for teaching was ignited. He furthered his academic pursuit through an ICCR scholarship, obtaining a Bachelor's in Computer Applications from the University of Mysore while concurrently contributing as a Web Developer at Shishira Softbiz Pvt, Ltd.

His ardor for both teaching and programming flourished during his tenure as a Programming Instructor at Shashwath Institute of Infomatrix and Technologies and Aptech Computer Education in India. Continuing his educational endeavors, Sharifi obtained a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Mysore and is currently engaged in cutting-edge research at Newcastle University in the UK.

His diverse skill set encompasses Full Stack Web Development with Python, proficiency in Exploratory Data Analysis, expertise in the R programming language, fluency in C++, C, Java, Visual Basic, as well as competence in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and more.

Issa Omid

Team Leader at Daikundi WFP/ARADA-TPM

Issa Omid, Team Leader at Daikundi WFP/ARADA-TPM, holds a degree in Arabic Language and Literature from Kabul University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Sustainable Development at Xim University, India, supported by JWL. He also holds a certificate in Liberal Studies from Xim University. In 2017, Omid established Star Bamyan Branch with Ali Reza Yasa's support and served as Director until August 2021. He also taught English and became the Senior English Instructor. Omid's understanding of Bamyan's young generation led to a successful branch opening, benefiting many students and opening new horizons for jobs and international scholarships. He is a skilled manager, creative instructor, and initiative translator.
